Greetings from Greece

Hello, my name is Tonya Tzianakakis and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am from the United States, however currently living abroad in the wonderful country of Greece. This is my first overseas locale, as my husband is in the Hellenic Army. It has certainly been a treat so far. I am also a mother of !3! wonderful sons, aged 23, 16, and 13. I have an AAS in Criminal Justice and currently pursuing my BA in Psychology. I have also begun my freelance writing career this past year, in which everything I am writing is a work in progress. My first publication was a poem I submitted in 1999 that I wrote back in 1995. The Anthology is "America The Millenium: The Best Poets of 2000".
I have walked in the shoes of a widow (aged 20), a mother of an autistic child (aged 26), and a single mother (aged 33), all of which have made me the strong woman I am today and plenty to write about. One of my favorite movie quotes is by Sandra Bullock in "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood" when she stated, "If I'd had an easy childhood, I'd have nothing to write about". So, take a moment and look in the far corners of your mind and you just might find that settting, plot, or character you've been dreaming of.

Glad to have you aboard. (Please can you send some decent saganaki over to the UK - we're dying over here!)

I agree that if nothing has ever happened to you (and you've never been anywhere to look for something to happen to you) you writing may quickly dry up.
