Two of my characters are of african american descent and I want them to have afro hair, I want my female to be seen with this type of afro http://www.the-complete-peruke-guide.co ... lyLW-1.jpg and my male to have this http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pG1RoKRCf78/R ... a070907+(2).jpg I know this is quite specific but I want you to have a good image of the type of hair I want. So if you were to describe this type of hair style how would you go about it.

Thanks =)

Hi there
Well having looked at both styles I can only come up with afrocarribean corkscrew curly.
No much help I'm afraid.

.... Oh hang on ..... how about comparing her hair to a typical Tina Turner hairstyle?
Most of us recognise Tina for her outlandish hair.
The male ... well do we know any well known popstars etc you could compare to?
Stevie Wonder (showing my age there) Shaggy? :lol:
Hope that helps you out.
MT

Male: Dark winding curls with a splash of gold on the ends, like wind-twisted corn.

Jenny.... with the male I can't think of a comparison. However reading your description I would be inclined to write it exactly as you describe because that gives me an instant image of a young man with dark corkscrew hair. I see him as a dark tanned body not overly muscular but enough to hold the female interest. The gold on the end of the hair adds an etherial sort of feel about him.
The description "Wind twisted corn" I just love. It speaks multitudes on its own.

Well thats what we're here for honey.
Dont forget though... sometimes it pays to let the readers take the initiative as they like to put their own imagination and interpretation to work. :lol:
